What would you like in your Christmas hamper? For me, it would have to contain food, obvs, and you can do no wrong with putting a selection of quality products ranging from pâtés, hams, cheeses and booze or something different like spices in it and I’ll be your friend for life!

I was sent a couple of items from the Christmas hamper – the organic sage & onion stuffing and organic Fairtrade Christmas drinking chocolate.
I don’t really drink much hot drinks, but if I do, hot chocolate is the one I go for. Steenbergs Christmas Drinking Chocolate is a spicer version from the norm with spices such as cinnamon, ginger, cardamon, allspice and cloves. The spices used are well balanced and nothing overpowers, so you can still detect each spice without losing the overall rich, luxurious, chocolatey taste – very comforting.
Stuffing is a must in my roasts. Steenbergs organic Sage & Onion Stuffing has a good texture with nice hits of both sage and onion, but cooked on it’s own I felt it lacked seasoning as it was too delicate in flavour and needed a bit of oomph to lift it. It did, however, work better when I stuffed it into the cavity of a chicken where it benefitted from the extra flavour given by the roasting chicken juices.
The packaging for both products is fab, really eye-catching, simple and bold. I also like the fact that the packaging is reusable to help keep items nice and fresh after opening.

I love stuffing too! Although I usually don’t actually stuff my poultry with the stuffing. I like rolling it into balls and baking. I think it’s the cooked crunchy crust on the outside with the chewy herby inside which is what I crave about it. Sage and onion is great, but some of the other combinations, like chestnut and thyme are also great.

Hi Snigdha – I love other flavour combos too, cranberries are a fav and I also sometimes add the offal from the chicken for added texture and richer flavour.
