OK, so it’s winter and no doubt most of your minds are tuned into festive foodie fair. But the above pictured Summer Berry Compote poured over ice-cream and pancakes is a must try – I mean look at it! Making sweets and desserts really isn’t my forte, but that doesn’t mean I don’t like eating them! This dessert though is pretty easy to do, as most of it is already prepared (recipe below).
The compote is made by Opies, who I’m a big fan of. Not that long ago I tried their amazing hickory sauces. The compote is one of two recently launched, the other is Gooseberry, and both made from 100% British fruit.
The Luxury Summer Berry Compote is indeed that – luxurious – with ample amounts of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, redcurrants and blackcurrants in it. I like the bitty texture that the seeds provide in the tangy velvety sauce.
