The peeps at Waitrose sure know to how to entertain. I recently went to their brilliantly boozy wine tasting event held on a barge on Regent’s Canal. The event was to cheers the launch of their new online wine service Waitrose Cellar.
Fellow blogger, Slice Off Me, has written a very good write up of it with pictures galore here.
Catena Malbec, 2011 (pic by Emma Gutteridge)
We got through A LOT of wines and as I’m a swallower (of wine) and not a spitter – I was suitably very merry drunk by the end. My favourite wine of the night was without doubt the Catena Malbec, 2011. It’s a seriously gutsy, fruity and spicy wine from Mendoza and one I will be pairing with some very fine steak. If you need help pairing wines with food, the friendly and knowledgeable team behind the @waitrosewines twitter account can help you find your match.
wines chosen for me by fellow bloggers – hic!
Right, enough ramblings from me, here’s a li’l discount code for you: WTCELLAR514 will save you £10 when you spend £100 before 10th June 2014.
Many thanks to Waitrose for the invite and fabulous case of wines.

What a night, such perfect weather and far too easy to sip the wines rather than spit them out, they were too good! Lovely to meet you and I am pleased you got your reds!
Hey Laura, innit! Fab to meet you too and was lovely to see you again at the Amoy event. Hope you liked all of your wines too 🙂
