Bombing around London in an old-skool mini driven by an overzealous driver is how I spent one cryptic Wednesday evening. I’d accepted a secret mission and was being driven to a secret location – for this reason I am unable to tell you exactly where I ended up – but I can tell you it was in a very fancy hotel in Moorgate and proper high-end.
Who sent me on this mission? Why all the secrecy? Well, it was a company called Lime and Tonic, which is a digital concierge service that offers unique activities and dining experiences to the more affluent market, working with merchants like Michelin restaurants or 5-star hotels. They operate not only in London, but also in Dubai, Prague, Rio, Sydney, Amsterdam & Melbourne.
Absinthe Cocktails
The night in question was a showcase of one of their experiences: Dine Another Day, which I took part in with a selection of magazine editors, journos and bloggers. This particular experience was food-filled and bond-themed, as the title suggests. We were split into two groups and what ensued were a series of tasks and challenges, which included hunting around the rather glam hotel rooms for clues, whilst drinking creative cocktails like smoked absinthe and flaming Pisco Sours. Oh, and being blindfolded at some point too!
As well as cocktails, we were given tasters of food along the way. With an opener of Pig’s Head Croquettes and Frogs’ Legs Kiev canapés, the bar was set high for the 4-course meal we were to eat later, which didn’t disappoint.

I shall say no more, as this particular experience is available at the moment, which might differ to the showcase or might not. The next one is being held on 25th September, for £79 per person.
