Magija Chocolate Bar and a Trifle Recipe
As food is a huge passion of mine there’s not much that I don’t eat and as such I’m often open to trying new and/or different things. The latest is a Lithuanian chocolate bar called Magija which has a filling of curd. It may sound odd to pair cheese as a sweet/dessert, but it’s not that much different to cheese in a cheesecake.
Magija has a crisp outer layer of chocolate and the curd inside adds a delicious soft tang. Its texture is firm, but fluffy and like a slightly denser mousse. The curd is made with fresh milk using vegetable rennet, so it’s suitable for vegetarians, and there’s no artificial additives or preservatives. There are also lovely scatterings of chocolate chips running through it too, which add to its texture. Magija is great eaten just as it is as a snack or a dessert and also pairs nicely with fruits.
Fancy one? Magija is available in the chilled cabinet of the ethnic section of Sainsbury’s, independent food shops and Budgens. It retails from between 50p to 70p for 45g.
And once you’ve bought your tasty treat, why not try this super easy Magija trifle recipe too.
