Foodies Festival – Clapham Common

The 2014 Foodies Festival kicked off at the beginning of May in Brighton and has been touring around the UK since. I managed to catch it closer to home when it pitched up in Clapham Common last month. Top chefs – lots of ex Masterchefs ones mostly – demonstrated their cooking mojo along with tempting foods stalls, drinks stalls and band stand all vying for attention. Continue reading

I do love a good festival, not so much in a knee-deep-in-mud, wash yourself with wet wipes, and sleep in a tent for 3 days kind of way – hell no, those days are well and truly gone. However, if you’re talking about an event where you can visit in a day and go home to a comfy bed after, then yeah, I can do that, and if you throw in one that describes itself as a ‘Big Feast’, well even better! West Norwood Slow Food Festival and a Foraged Mallow Omelette

A few weeks ago I went to the West Norwood Slow Festival and a what a fab day it was. There were some great stalls selling a variety of artisan produce; iberico ham from Brindisa, chorizos, cakes, cheeses and lots more. You’d be hard pushed not find something you like. As well as the food stalls there were food related talks and demos in the ‘Chef Demo Tent’ and ‘Talks Tent’. Continue reading
