I’m a little in love with the food offerings from Pop Brixton. I’ve eaten at Zoe’s Ghana Kitchen and Koi Ramen whose broth is lighter and thinner than other ramen joints, but still manage to pack a lot of flavour. I used to visit them a lot when they had a stall further down Station Road. The new location sees a slight increase in prices, but open for more days and longer opening times, which I welcome. Supper Clubs offer a unique and often more relaxed way to eat out, and it’s a great way to meet new people who will already share your love of food. However, rocking up to any stranger’s home can be a little intimidating. There’s a buzz in an old Victorian hay loft in Brixton, and it’s coming from new restaurant pop up, Beehive Place Kitchen and Bar. I fondly remember the loft’s previous incarnation, as the dark and atmospheric Brixtonian, where back in the day many a night was spent sipping (downing) cocktails and dancing the night away.
